Oakwood University recognizes the imminent and growing diversity of its learning community. It is reported that ,“from 1990 to 2014, the number of international students enrolled in U.S. higher education institutions more than doubled, reaching a total of 1.1 million students in the 2016–17 academic year (Institute of International Education, 2017a) as cited in (AIR, 2018, p.2). Further, “second-generation Americans, children born in the United States to immigrant parents, currently account for almost 20% of all U.S. college students (AIR, 2018, p.2).” In response to these growing trends, the Oakwood University Online Writing Center offers an array of multilingual writing and learning support resources that can be linked from external sources.
